CVE Catalog

CVE-2026-122322

HighCVSS 7.5
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

Kyverno from 1.11.0 before 1.19.2 contains an unbounded decompression vulnerability in extractStatement. Attackers controlling registry referrer artifacts can supply highly compressed attestation layers that exceed maxPayloadSize when decompressed, causing admission controller OOM kills and denial of service.

Risk Assessment

This can lead to denial of service of the Kyverno admission controller, blocking deployment and policy enforcement in the cluster. Organizations using Kyverno are exposed to cluster disruptions.

Recommendation

Update Kyverno to version 1.19.2 or later. Consider restricting access to registries and referrer artifacts and monitoring admission controller memory usage.

Kyverno from 1.11.0 before 1.19.2 contains an unbounded decompression vulnerability in extractStatement that allows remote attackers to exhaust memory by supplying highly compressed attestation layers. Attackers controlling registry referrer artifacts can push gzip predicate layers exceeding maxPayloadSize when decompressed, causing admission controller OOM kills and denial of service.
