Summary

PostgreSQL Anonymizer before 3.3.0 leaves statistics about the original data visible in pg_stats until an ANALYZE operation is performed on the table, either manually or by autovacuum. This can expose information about masked data.

Risk Assessment

Users with access to pg_stats may read statistics of the original unmasked data, violating data protection assumptions and potentially leaking sensitive information.

Recommendation

Upgrade PostgreSQL Anonymizer to version 3.3.0 or later and run ANALYZE on affected tables after applying masking.
