Summary

Apache CloudStack has an improper control of code generation ('Code Injection') vulnerability in admin-only APIs: quotaTariffCreate, quotaTariffUpdate, createSecondaryStorageSelector, updateSecondaryStorageSelector, updateHost, and updateStorage. It affects versions from 4.18.0 before 4.20.2 and from 4.21.0 before 4.22.0.

Risk Assessment

An administrator could inject code, potentially leading to unauthorized operations within the system. The risk is limited to administrative accounts but can result in a serious security breach.

Recommendation

Upgrade Apache CloudStack to version 4.20.2 or 4.22.0. Consider setting the js.interpretation.enabled flag to control JavaScript expression interpretation in these APIs.
