Summary

Unusual WebGPU content loaded into the GPU GLES render process can trigger an out-of-bounds read and/or write crash in the GPU GLES user-space shared library. On some platforms the graphics process runs with system privileges.

Risk Assessment

This can crash the GPU process and, on privileged platforms, enable further exploits on the device. Browsers and applications rendering untrusted WebGPU content are at risk.

Recommendation

Update GPU drivers and the browser to patched versions. Limit processing of untrusted WebGPU content where possible.
