CVE-2026-121802
CriticalCVSS 9.1Summary
@better-auth/expo before 1.7.16 signs a caller-supplied state value without verifying that it was issued by the server. This allows account-takeover outcomes, such as unauthenticated changes of any account's email address.
Risk Assessment
Account takeover can lead to unauthorized access to user data and application functionality. The application secret must be rotated after updating because the old secret may have been compromised.
Recommendation
Update @better-auth/expo to version 1.7.16 or later, then immediately rotate the application secret.

Original NVD description (English source)
@better-auth/expo before 1.7.16 allows certain account-takeover outcomes (e.g., unauthenticated changes of any account's email address), because it signs a caller-supplied state value without checking whether that value had been issued by the server. NOTE: the application secret must be rotated after updating to a fixed version.
