Summary

e-SIC Livre (esiclivre) v0.2.2 and earlier contains an uncontrolled resource consumption vulnerability in restrito/inc/captcha.php. The application uses user-supplied parameters (l, a, tf, ql) without validation to generate CAPTCHA images, allowing remote attackers to cause denial of service via excessive memory and CPU consumption.

Risk Assessment

A remote attacker can overload the server, causing application unavailability and exhaustion of system resources. This may disrupt service for legitimate users.

Recommendation

Update e-SIC Livre to a version containing the fix or implement validation of the l, a, tf, and ql parameters in captcha.php. Consider rate limiting requests to the CAPTCHA generation endpoint.
