CVE-2026-2456

MediumCVSS 5.3
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

Mattermost versions 11.3.x <= 11.3.0, 11.2.x <= 11.2.2, 10.11.x <= 10.11.10 fail to limit the size of responses from integration action endpoints. An authenticated attacker can cause server memory exhaustion and denial of service via a malicious integration server returning an arbitrarily large response when a user clicks an interactive message button.

Risk Assessment

An authenticated attacker can cause memory exhaustion and unavailability of the Mattermost server. It requires user interaction (clicking a button) but can severely disrupt organizational operations.

Recommendation

Update Mattermost to a version newer than those listed (e.g., 11.3.1, 11.2.3, 10.11.11 or later). Limit trust in external integration servers.
