15th percentile - higher than 15% of all known CVEs

Summary

The Payment Integration Wompi WordPress plugin through version 4.0.1 does not verify the authenticity of incoming payment notifications on a stock install, because the callback's checksum is keyed on a merchant secret that is empty until manually configured. This allows an unauthenticated attacker to forge a notification and mark an arbitrary order as paid.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can mark any order as paid without making a payment, causing financial losses. The risk affects stores with the plugin's default configuration.

Recommendation

Update the plugin to a version later than 4.0.1 and configure a non-empty merchant secret. Review order history for forged confirmations.
