CVE-2025-64027
MediumCVSS 6.1Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk17th percentile - higher than 17% of all known CVEs
Summary
Snipe-IT v8.3.4 (build 20218) contains a reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the CSV Import workflow. When an invalid CSV file is uploaded, the application returns a progress_message value that is rendered as raw HTML in the admin interface; an attacker can intercept and modify the POST /livewire/update request to inject arbitrary HTML or JavaScript, which executes in the browser of any authenticated admin who views the import page. NOTE: this is disputed by the Supplier because the report only demonstrates that an authenticated user can choose to conduct a man-in-the-middle attack against himself.
Risk Assessment
In the researcher's scenario, an attacker could execute arbitrary JavaScript in an admin's browser, potentially leading to session hijacking or data theft. However, the vendor argues this requires prior traffic interception (MITM), limiting practical risk.
Recommendation
Update Snipe-IT to the latest version and implement output encoding for progress_message. Consider enforcing HTTPS and MITM protection in administrative networks.
Other vulnerabilities in Snipe-IT
See all- CVE-2025-63601Critical
Snipe-IT before version 8.3.3 contains a remote code execution vulnerability that allows an authenticated attacker to upload a malicious backup file containing arbitrary files and execute system commands.
- CVE-2026-116201High
Snipe-IT before 8.5.0 contains a SAML assertion replay vulnerability that allows attackers to reuse captured assertions by exploiting a non-atomic nonce check in the SAML acs handler. Attackers can send concurrent POST requests to /saml/acs with one captured assertion to obtain multiple authenticated victim sessions that evade IdP-driven revocation.
- CVE-2026-116200Medium
Snipe-IT before 8.6.3 ignores the ldap_start_tls() return value in Ldap::connectToLdap(), allowing on-path attackers to force cleartext LDAP binds. Attackers can answer the StartTLS request with a protocol error to capture service-account credentials and end-user login passwords.
- CVE-2026-116199High
Snipe-IT before 8.6.3 contains an authentication bypass in GoogleAuthController::handleGoogleCallback, which logs in the user whose username matches the Google account email without enforcing the activated flag. Deactivated users with email-shaped usernames and still-live Google identities can sign in via Google SSO and regain sessions at their original permission level, including admin.
- CVE-2026-116198Medium
Snipe-IT before 8.7.0 contains a missing encryption vulnerability in Api\AssetsController::store that writes plaintext into encrypted-flagged custom-field columns when callers lack assets.view.encrypted_custom_fields. Authenticated API users without that permission can create assets whose sensitive custom-field values persist unencrypted in the database, exposing them through backups, replicas, or direct database access.
- CVE-2026-114064Medium
Snipe-IT before 8.7.0 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability in the webhook testing feature that allows super-admin users to probe internal network addresses, including loopback and RFC1918 ranges. Attackers can point webhooks at internal hosts and ports, then compare 4xx versus 5xx responses from Test Webhooks to map open ports and active hosts.
- CVE-2026-63498High
Snipe-IT before 8.7.0 allows an authenticated user with file-management access to upload XML and XSLT attachments and request them with inline=true. The browser can process an attacker-controlled xml-stylesheet reference and execute JavaScript generated by the stylesheet in the Snipe-IT origin. A victim must open the attachment URL, after which the script can read same-origin data and perform authenticated actions with the victim's privileges.
- CVE-2026-63493High
Snipe-IT before 8.7.0 allows a password-authenticated session for an account with self.api permission to reach the personal-access-token API flow before completing the account's second-factor challenge because CheckForTwoFactor is enforced in the web middleware group but not the API middleware group. The resulting token can read and modify resources with the victim's permissions and, for an administrator, can reach the users/two_factor_reset endpoint, allowing account takeover.
- CVE-2026-62368High
Snipe-IT before 8.7.0 allows a user with customfields.create permission to store markup in CustomField.name, which is assigned as an unescaped bootstrap-table header title. When another user opens an asset-list page, the stored markup executes on page load in that user's session, potentially exposing same-origin data and performing authenticated actions, including privilege escalation.
- CVE-2026-88894Medium
Snipe-IT's predefined kit checkout path does not enforce Full Multiple Company Support (FMCS) tenant isolation on the checkout target. Unlike the single, bulk, API, accessory, license and consumable checkout paths, App\Services\PredefinedKitCheckoutService never calls $item->canCheckoutTo($target); it only performs the actor-vs-item policy check and an availability check before persisting the checkout. With FMCS enabled, a non-superuser who belongs to at least two companies and holds the assets.checkout permission can POST to /kits/{kit}/checkout with a user_id belonging only to company B and have a company-A asset (and likewise kit licenses, consumables and accessories) assigned to that user, bypassing the company-mismatch check. The issue is fixed in Snipe-IT 8.7.2.

Snipe-IT v8.3.4 (build 20218) contains a reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the CSV Import workflow. When an invalid CSV file is uploaded, the application returns a progress_message value that is rendered as raw HTML in the admin interface. An attacker can intercept and modify the POST /livewire/update request to inject arbitrary HTML or JavaScript into the progress_message. Because the server accepts the modified input without sanitization and reflects it back to the user, arbitrary JavaScript executes in the browser of any authenticated admin who views the import page. NOTE: this is disputed by the Supplier because the report only demonstrates that an authenticated user can choose to conduct a man-in-the-middle attack against himself.
