Summary

In the Linux kernel, the RDMA/rxe module has an issue where delayed SKB packets still depend on rxe resources (e.g., QP, sk) when destroyed. If these resources are released before the SKB packets are destroyed, call traces may appear. A timestamp is added when SKB packets are created to allow network devices to free them earlier if they hang too long.

Risk Assessment

May lead to system instability, kernel errors, or potential denial of service attacks by triggering invalid call traces.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version containing the fix (commit described in CVE). Monitor systems for abnormal call traces related to RDMA/rxe.

Original NVD description (English source)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: RDMA/rxe: Flush delayed SKBs while releasing RXE resources When skb packets are sent out, these skb packets still depends on the rxe resources, for example, QP, sk, when these packets are destroyed. If these rxe resources are released when the skb packets are destroyed, the call traces will appear. To avoid skb packets hang too long time in some network devices, a timestamp is added when these skb packets are created. If these skb packets hang too long time in network devices, these network devices can free these skb packets to release rxe resources.
