Summary

In the Linux kernel, the CoreSight subsystem had an ACPI buffer memory leak (buf.pointer) reported by kmemleak. The buffer was used after returning from acpi_get_dsd_graph() and was not freed. The fix moves temporary variables into acpi_coresight_parse_graph() and frees the buffer before the function returns.

Risk Assessment

Causes gradual kernel memory leaks when processing CoreSight platform data, which can lead to performance degradation and memory exhaustion in long-running systems. Mainly affects devices with CoreSight.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version with the fix freeing the ACPI buffer in acpi_coresight_parse_graph(). Recommended for systems with CoreSight support.

The ACPI buffer memory (buf.pointer) should be freed. But the buffer is also used after returning from acpi_get_dsd_graph(). Move the temporary variables buf to acpi_coresight_parse_graph(), and free it before the function return to prevent memory leak.
