CVE-2006-3042

High
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

Multiple PHP remote file inclusion vulnerabilities exist in ISPConfig 2.2.3. A remote attacker can execute arbitrary PHP code by supplying a malicious URL in the go_info[isp][classes_root] or go_info[server][classes_root] parameters in server.inc.php, app.inc.php, login.php, and trylogin.php. The vendor has disputed this issue, stating that the original researcher reviewed an installation tarball that differs from the system after installation.

Risk Assessment

The vulnerability could allow remote code execution on the server, leading to full system compromise and data theft. However, the risk is limited because the vendor denies its presence in actual installations.

Recommendation

Update ISPConfig to the latest version and verify that configuration files do not contain uncontrolled include paths. If using version 2.2.3, contact the vendor to confirm the vulnerability status.
