CVE-2026-98966

Unknown
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

In the Linux kernel bonding module, replacing an XDP program does not release the reference on the old BPF program, whether going to no-prog or replacing with another program, causing BPF program leaks.

Risk Assessment

A growing BPF program leak exhausts kernel resources and may affect system stability under frequent XDP reconfiguration.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version containing the fix that releases the old BPF program reference on XDP replacement.
