Summary

In the Linux kernel IIO adi-axi-adc driver, the AXI ADC register access paths serialize transactions with st->lock, but probe does not initialize this mutex before registering the backend.

Risk Assessment

An uninitialized mutex can lead to undefined behavior, races, and potential kernel crashes during ADC register access.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version where the state mutex is initialized before registering the backend.
