Summary

In the Linux kernel, the proc_dointvec_ms_jiffies_minmax function was missing a range check that was incorrectly removed by an earlier commit replacing the SYSCTL_INT_CONV_CUSTOM macro with functions. The lack of range validation may allow setting values outside the permitted interval.

Risk Assessment

Missing range checking in a sysctl parameter can lead to unpredictable kernel behavior or misconfiguration if a privileged user supplies an out-of-range value.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version that restores the range check in do_proc_int_conv_ms_jiffies_minmax.
