CVE-2026-92232
MediumCVSS 6.5Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk18th percentile - higher than 18% of all known CVEs
Summary
Joomla! Core versions 1.5.0-5.4.8 and 6.0.0-6.1.3 have an XSS filter bypass in InputFilter. The cleanAttribute method removes HTML data URIs, but injected whitespace characters can circumvent that cleanup, causing an XSS vector.
Risk Assessment
An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to inject malicious JavaScript, potentially leading to session theft, admin account takeover, or other attacks on users.
Recommendation
Upgrade Joomla! to the latest patched version. Also avoid processing untrusted input without proper sanitization.
