CVE-2026-79816
MediumCVSS 6.3Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk8th percentile - higher than 8% of all known CVEs
Summary
A vulnerability in a client interface of HPE Networking ClearPass Policy Manager could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to conduct a DOM-based cross-site scripting (XSS) attack against a user of the affected client interface. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary script code in a victim's browser context.
Risk Assessment
An attacker could execute malicious script in the victim's browser, potentially leading to session theft, credential theft, or other sensitive information disclosure. Users of the ClearPass client interface are at risk of session hijacking.
Recommendation
Update ClearPass Policy Manager to a version containing the XSS fix. Inform users about the risk and advise caution when clicking unknown links.
