CVE-2026-76294

MediumCVSS 4.3
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Exploitation Probability (EPSS)

Low risk
0.27%

19th percentile - higher than 19% of all known CVEs

Summary

In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.4, 10.2.8, 10.0.11, and 9.4.16, a user who does not hold the "admin" or "power" Splunk roles could move field extractions or field transformations to apps for which the user does not have read access. The vulnerability is possible because the Representational State Transfer (REST) API does not validate destination app access before it processes field extraction and field transformation move operations.

Risk Assessment

A low-privileged user can move configurations into apps they cannot access, potentially leaking configuration information and disrupting data processing.

Recommendation

Upgrade Splunk Enterprise to version 10.4.4, 10.2.8, 10.0.11 or 9.4.16 (or later) and verify app access permissions for API users.
