CVE-2026-44911
MediumCVSS 6.3Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk17th percentile — higher than 17% of all known CVEs
Summary
In Apache NiFi versions 1.15.0 through 2.9.0, authorization handling for component configuration verification requests allows clients with read access to submit proposed configuration properties. These properties can override the current configuration, enabling users with read access to invoke predefined verification methods with alternative settings.
Risk Assessment
Organizations that do not implement different levels of authorization for viewing and modifying component configurations are at risk of unauthorized configuration changes. This could lead to unexpected system behavior and potential security vulnerabilities.
Recommendation
It is recommended to upgrade to Apache NiFi version 2.10.0, which requires write access to submit configuration verification requests. Implementing different levels of authorization for viewing and modifying component configurations is also crucial.
Original NVD description (English source)
Authorization handling for component configuration verification requests in Apache NiFi 1.15.0 through 2.9.0 allows clients with read access to submit proposed configuration properties. The proposed properties override current configuration, enabling users with read access to invoke predefined verification methods with alternative settings. Apache NiFi installations that do not implement different levels of authorization for viewing and modifying component configuration are not subject to this vulnerability. Upgrading to Apache NiFi 2.10.0 is the recommended mitigation, requiring write access to submit configuration verification requests.
