LowCVSS 3.7
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Exploitation Probability (EPSS)

Low risk
0.14%

3th percentile - higher than 3% of all known CVEs

Summary

Mattermost versions 11.5.x <= 11.5.1, 10.11.x <= 10.11.13 fail to validate that the RefreshedToken differs from the original invite token during remote cluster invite confirmation, which allows an authenticated attacker to bypass token rotation and reuse the original invite token via sending a crafted invite confirmation with a RefreshedToken matching the original token.

Risk Assessment

An authenticated attacker could bypass token rotation and reuse the original invite token, potentially leading to unauthorized cluster access or privilege escalation.

Recommendation

Update Mattermost to a version later than 11.5.1 or 10.11.13 to fix the vulnerability.
