Summary

Statamic CMS contains a bypass of the external URL detection used for redirect validation on unauthenticated endpoints. This allows users to be redirected to external URLs after actions such as form submissions and authentication flows. The issue is fixed in versions 5.73.16 and 6.7.2.

Risk Assessment

Attackers could leverage redirects for phishing or to mislead users after trusted actions in the application. This can undermine trust in the site and expose users to data theft.

Recommendation

Upgrade Statamic to version 5.73.16 or 6.7.2 (or later). Verify that redirect validation works correctly on public endpoints.
