CVE-2026-33599

LowCVSS 3.1
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Exploitation Probability (EPSS)

Low risk
0.28%

21th percentile - higher than 21% of all known CVEs

Summary

A rogue backend can send a crafted SVCB response to a Discovery of Designated Resolvers (DDR) request when triggered via the autoUpgrade (Lua) option for newServer or the auto_upgrade (YAML) setting. DDR is not enabled by default.

Risk Assessment

If DDR is enabled, an attacker could trick the client into using a malicious resolver, potentially leading to DNS traffic interception or manipulation. The feature is disabled by default, limiting exposure.

Recommendation

If you do not use DDR, ensure it is disabled. If needed, enable it only for trusted servers and consider updating the software.
