CVE-2026-3129
MediumCVSS 6.4Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk9th percentile - higher than 9% of all known CVEs
Summary
The LiteSpeed Cache plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via crafted `<img>` tag attributes in all versions up to, and including, 7.7. This is due to a flawed regular expression used to strip `width` and `height` attributes from images when the "Lazy Load Images" and "Add Missing Sizes" features are enabled.
Risk Assessment
An authenticated attacker with Author-level access or above can inject arbitrary web scripts on pages that execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, potentially leading to session theft, account takeover, or other attacks.
Recommendation
Upgrade the LiteSpeed Cache plugin to the latest version that contains the fix for this vulnerability.
Other vulnerabilities in LiteSpeed Cache
See all- CVE-2026-116763Medium
The LiteSpeed Cache plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'comment' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 7.9.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This vulnerability is only exploitable when the HTML Minify option (O_OPTM_HTML_MIN) is enabled and a companion plugin renders stored comment content into a raw-text context such as a JSON-LD script block on the same page.
- CVE-2026-109215Medium
The LiteSpeed Cache plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'bbp_reply_content' parameter in all versions up to and including 7.9.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. Authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access and above can inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when a user accesses an injected page. Exploitation requires an administrator to enable Viewport Images (VPI) and configure a VPI filename matching an image the attacker can embed in user-generated content.
- CVE-2026-114190Medium
The WordPress plugin 'LiteSpeed Cache' (versions up to 7.9) is vulnerable to insertion of sensitive information into sent data, which may allow retrieval of embedded sensitive data. An attacker could gain access to information that should not be disclosed.
- CVE-2026-76579Medium
The LiteSpeed Cache plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via the 'esi' parameter in all versions up to and including 7.9 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute if they can trick a user into clicking a link. Exploitation requires a validly signed 'esi' value in the GET query string and a separate attacker-controlled 'esi' payload as a POST body field, relying on PHP's default $_REQUEST merge order.
- CVE-2026-84761High
Unauthenticated Server Side Request Forgery (SSRF) in LiteSpeed Cache versions up to 7.9. An attacker can send requests from the server to internal resources without authentication.
- CVE-2026-18978High
The LiteSpeed Cache plugin for WordPress up to version 7.8.1 is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Comment Content. Insufficient input sanitization and output escaping allow unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when a user accesses an injected page. A payload crafted from decimal numeric character references bypasses WordPress's wp_kses sanitization.
- CVE-2025-12450Medium
The LiteSpeed Cache plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Reflected Cross-Site Scripting via URLs in all versions up to, and including, 7.5.0.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute if they can trick a user into performing an action such as clicking a link.
