CVE-2026-23344

HighCVSS 7.8
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

In the Linux kernel, the crypto: ccp driver contains a use-after-free on the error path of sev_tsm_init_locked(). The code calls pr_err() accessing fields of structure 't' after it has been freed by kfree().

Risk Assessment

Could lead to data disclosure, memory corruption, or system crash when an SEV-TSM initialization error occurs. Requires local access and specific conditions, but may be exploited for privilege escalation.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version containing the fix that moves pr_err() before kfree(t). Verify whether the system uses the ccp/SEV module and schedule the update in the next maintenance window.

Original NVD description (English source)

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: crypto: ccp - Fix use-after-free on error path In the error path of sev_tsm_init_locked(), the code dereferences 't' after it has been freed with kfree(). The pr_err() statement attempts to access t->tio_en and t->tio_init_done after the memory has been released. Move the pr_err() call before kfree(t) to access the fields while the memory is still valid. This issue reported by Smatch static analyser
