CVE-2026-20059
MediumCVSS 6.1Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk9th percentile - higher than 9% of all known CVEs
Summary
A reflected XSS vulnerability exists in the web-based management interface of Cisco Unity Connection due to improper validation of user-supplied input. An unauthenticated remote attacker could persuade a user to click a crafted link, allowing execution of arbitrary script code in the context of the affected interface.
Risk Assessment
This could allow an attacker to steal session data or sensitive browser-based information from a user, potentially leading to session hijacking. Exploitation requires user interaction but no authentication on the attacker's side.
Recommendation
Update Cisco Unity Connection to a patched version. Additionally, implement XSS mitigations such as CSP headers and train users to avoid suspicious links.

Original NVD description (English source)
A vulnerability in the web-based management interface of Cisco Unity Connection could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to conduct a reflected XSS attack against a user of the interface. This vulnerability exists because the web-based management interface does not properly validate user-supplied input. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by persuading a user to click a crafted link. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary script code in the context of the affected interface or access sensitive, browser-based information.
