CVE-2026-120316

MediumCVSS 5.9
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

http4k before 6.62.0.0-ee contains a path traversal vulnerability in ThymeleafTemplates Caching and HotReload. Unauthenticated attackers can read files outside baseTemplateDir by supplying ../ segments in ViewModel.template() values, as Thymeleaf's FileTemplateResolver resolves escaped paths without containment checks.

Risk Assessment

Attackers can disclose any file readable by the server process, including configuration and sensitive data. Exploitation only requires influencing request-driven template selection and needs no authentication.

Recommendation

Update http4k to version 6.62.0.0-ee or later. Until patched, restrict user influence over ViewModel.template() values.
