CVE-2026-118070
HighCVSS 7.2Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk15th percentile - higher than 15% of all known CVEs
Summary
The Welcart e-Commerce plugin for WordPress in versions up to and including 2.12.5 is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'gid' parameter. An unauthenticated attacker can inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when an administrator opens the order in the WordPress admin panel.
Risk Assessment
An attacker can execute arbitrary JavaScript in the administrator's browser, potentially leading to account takeover. Forging the ROBOT PAYMENT browser-return request is sufficient.
Recommendation
Update the Welcart e-Commerce plugin to a version newer than 2.12.5 and review order metadata for suspicious values.
Other vulnerabilities in Welcart e-Commerce WordPress plugin
See all- CVE-2026-111032Low
The Welcart e-Commerce WordPress plugin before 2.12.6 does not properly verify authorization against the targeted product before processing SKU changes, because its capability check is not tied to the product being edited. This allows any authenticated user with Author-level access or higher to read, modify, create, delete and re-order the SKU data (including prices, confidential cost prices and stock levels) of any product, including those belonging to other users.
- CVE-2026-111031Medium
The Welcart e-Commerce WordPress plugin before 2.12.6 does not validate a user-supplied URL before using it in a redirect. This allows unauthenticated attackers to redirect users to arbitrary external websites.
- CVE-2026-111027Medium
The Welcart e-Commerce WordPress plugin before 2.12.6 does not properly sanitise and escape a parameter before using it in a SQL query, and strips the escaping it had applied before running the query. This allows users with the Editor role or higher to perform SQL injection attacks.
- CVE-2026-16065Medium
The Welcart e-Commerce WordPress plugin before 2.11.32 does not properly sanitise a value taken from an imported CSV file before using it in a SQL statement. Users with the Editor role and above (including custom shop-management roles) can perform SQL injection attacks.
Original NVD description (English source)
The Welcart e-Commerce plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'gid' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 2.12.5 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The payload is staged by an unauthenticated visitor who forges the ROBOT PAYMENT browser-return request, storing the malicious gid value in order metadata; the script then fires when an administrator opens that order in the WordPress admin panel.
