CVE-2026-116163

HighCVSS 7.4
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Exploitation Probability (EPSS)

Low risk
0.28%

21th percentile - higher than 21% of all known CVEs

Summary

Parse Server before 8.6.102 and 9.0.0 before 9.10.5-alpha.2 contains an authentication bypass because the validateSetUp, validateLogin, and validateUpdate methods of custom adapters subclassing AuthAdapter are never called, and an inherited default that accepts any authData is used instead. Attackers can supply arbitrary authData to sign up, link identities, log in as existing users, or skip custom additional authentication factors.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can remotely bypass authentication and gain access to user accounts, including administrative ones, compromising data confidentiality and integrity. This may also allow bypassing additional security measures such as MFA.

Recommendation

Update Parse Server to version 8.6.102, 9.10.5-alpha.2, or later. Additionally, review custom AuthAdapter subclasses and ensure authData validation is properly invoked.
