Summary

A path traversal weakness was identified in Tenstorrent tt-metal up to 0.80.0 in the load_hf_state_dict_filtered function of models/tt_transformers/tt/load_checkpoints.py. Manipulating the weight_map argument allows path traversal.

Risk Assessment

An attacker can remotely read or overwrite files outside the intended directory, potentially leading to data disclosure or code execution. A public exploit increases the risk.

Recommendation

Upgrade tt-metal to version 0.81.0-dev20261016 or later (patch 4851ccf347f6903c3d819eed60705600386e52c3). Until patched, do not process untrusted weight_map arguments.
