CVE-2026-112010
MediumCVSS 5.5Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk2th percentile - higher than 2% of all known CVEs
Summary
smpeg through 2.0.0 contains an integer underflow vulnerability in stream_header() in MPEGsystem.cpp. By supplying a crafted MPEG file with an undersized packet length, packet_size can be wrapped, leading to a reachable assertion or out-of-bounds copy and application crash.
Risk Assessment
Applications opening untrusted MPEG files via SMPEG_new, SMPEG_new_rwops, or SMPEG_new_data may crash or hang, potentially enabling denial-of-service attacks.
Recommendation
Update smpeg to a version newer than 2.0.0 or avoid opening untrusted MPEG files until a fix is available.
