CVE-2026-107929

HighCVSS 8.1
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Exploitation Probability (EPSS)

Elevated risk
0.67%

52th percentile - higher than 52% of all known CVEs

Summary

When CURLOPT_INTERFACE (or --interface) is set with one of the documented prefixes (if!, host!, ifhost!), that binding is not part of the connection reuse key. A later transfer asking for a different source can silently reuse an existing connection and go out from the earlier transfer's source address.

Risk Assessment

Traffic may leave the system from the wrong source address, violating routing and network security policies and potentially bypassing firewall rules. This can lead to data leakage through unintended interfaces.

Recommendation

Update curl/libcurl to a fixed version. When enforcing a specific source interface, avoid connection reuse or use separate handles.
