CVE-2026-107928

HighCVSS 8.1
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Exploitation Probability (EPSS)

Elevated risk
0.71%

53th percentile - higher than 53% of all known CVEs

Summary

When curl is built with GnuTLS, a malicious WebSocket server can make curl send memory past its send buffer. This is due to an out-of-bounds read when gnutls_record_send() returns a number of bytes sent greater than the number of bytes it was given to send, which GnuTLS does after a blocked send.

Risk Assessment

Process memory contents may leak to a remote server or the application may crash. The leak could expose sensitive data or enable further exploitation.

Recommendation

Update curl/libcurl to a fixed version. Until updated, avoid WebSocket connections to untrusted servers when using GnuTLS builds.

Original NVD description (English source)

When curl is built with GnuTLS, a malicious WebSocket server can make curl send memory past its send buffer. This is due to an out of bounds read following when `gnutls_record_send()` returns a number of bytes sent **greater than the number of bytes it was given to send**. GnuTLS does that after a blocked send.
