Summary

Vulnerability in MySQL Server and MySQL Cluster (Server: Group Replication GCS component) affecting MySQL Server 8.4.0-8.4.12, 9.7.0-9.7.3, 26.7.0-26.7.1 and MySQL Cluster 8.0.0-8.0.49, 8.4.0-8.4.12, 9.7.0-9.7.3, 26.7.0-26.7.1. Easily exploitable, allows a high-privileged network attacker to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DoS).

Risk Assessment

A high-privileged attacker could remotely cause a denial of service, making the database cluster unavailable. The availability impact (CVSS 4.9) may disrupt replication and dependent services.

Recommendation

Immediately install patches for MySQL Server and MySQL Cluster. Monitor replication status and restrict network access to trusted nodes.
