CVE-2025-55079
MediumCVSS 5.5Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk6th percentile - higher than 6% of all known CVEs
Summary
In Eclipse ThreadX before version 6.4.3, the thread module has a setting of maximum priority. In some cases the check of that maximum priority wasn't performed, allowing, as a result, to obtain a thread with higher priority than expected and causing a possible denial of service.
Risk Assessment
A denial of service may occur due to incorrect thread priority, potentially disrupting system operation.
Recommendation
Update Eclipse ThreadX to version 6.4.3 or later to fix the vulnerability.
Other vulnerabilities in Eclipse ThreadX
See all- CVE-2026-115654Medium
In Eclipse ThreadX versions 6.0.1 through 6.5.2.202603, the Module Manager's thread-control services do not check that a thread passed by a user-mode, memory-protected module belongs to that module. Any loaded module can suspend, resume, terminate, reset or re-prioritise application threads and other modules' threads and abort their waits.
- CVE-2026-115653High
In Eclipse ThreadX versions 6.0.1 through 6.5.2.202603, the PendSV handler of the Cortex-M module ports saves a preempted user-mode module thread's registers in privileged mode at addresses taken from the thread's stack pointer, without checking that pointer against the thread's stack. A user-mode, memory-protected module can thereby write up to nine words into memory immediately below any region it may write, and read back what is stored there.
- CVE-2026-118052Medium
In Eclipse ThreadX versions 6.0.1 through 6.5.2.202603, the Module Manager loaders return an overflow error without releasing the Module Manager mutex when a module preamble declares a data or stack size that overflows the allocation arithmetic. Loading such an image blocks every later module load, start, stop and unload from other threads until the system is reset.
- CVE-2025-55080High
In Eclipse ThreadX before 6.4.3, when memory protection is enabled, syscall parameters verification wasn't enough, allowing an attacker to obtain an arbitrary memory read/write.
- CVE-2025-55078Medium
In Eclipse ThreadX before version 6.4.3, an attacker can cause a denial of service (crash) by providing a pointer to a reserved or unmapped memory region. Vulnerable system calls had a check of pointers, but that check wasn't verifying whether the pointer is outside the module memory region.
