CVE-2025-37834
MediumCVSS 5.5Summary
A bug in the Linux kernel's memory reclaim path (mm/vmscan) attempts to reclaim hwpoison (hardware-poisoned) folios, leading to a VM_BUG_ON_FOLIO in add_to_swap when the hwpoisoned page remains on the LRU list with the uptodate flag cleared. The fix skips hwpoisoned pages in shrink_folio_list() and unmaps them earlier.
Risk Assessment
The vulnerability can cause a kernel BUG and denial of service (DoS) in systems where a memory hardware error occurs while memory reclaim is active. However, it requires specific conditions (memory failure injection), so the risk is moderate.
Recommendation
Update the Linux kernel to a version containing the fix (commit described in the CVE). If updating is not possible, consider monitoring and restricting memory failure injection capabilities (e.g., via hwpoison) and regularly reviewing kernel logs for VM_BUG_ON errors.

- CVE-2026-99242Unknown
In the Linux kernel, a race between fallocate and mmap reads in NTFS was fixed. Fallocate only took invalidate_lock for punch hole, collapse range and insert range operations, and during standard allocation new clusters were mapped before being zeroed, allowing concurrent mmap page faults to read uninitialized disk data.
- CVE-2026-99241Unknown
In the Linux kernel, a missing lock in ntfs_filemap_page_mkwrite() was fixed; it called iomap_page_mkwrite() without holding mapping->invalidate_lock. A concurrent truncate or fallocate could be invalidating pagecache and rewriting the runlist while the write fault mapped blocks and dirtied the folio.
- CVE-2026-99240Unknown
In the Linux kernel, the DAMON subsystem (mm/damon/core) has a division-by-zero bug when a DAMOS quota goal has a target_value of zero. The fix moves handling of this corner case to the core layer by adding validation in damos_commit_quota_goal(), which now returns an error for zero target values.

Reclaim process will put the hwpoisoned page back to lru. 2) The process that maps the hwpoisoned page exits, the page is deleted the page will never be freed and will be in the lru forever. 3) If we trigger a reclaim again and tries to reclaim the page, add_to_swap() will trigger VM_BUG_ON_FOLIO due to the uptodate flag is cleared. To fix it, skip the hwpoisoned page in shrink_folio_list(). Besides, the hwpoison folio may not be unmapped by hwpoison_user_mappings() yet, unmap it in shrink_folio_list(), otherwise the folio will fail to be unmaped by hwpoison_user_mappings() since the folio isn't in lru list.
