Summary

An out-of-bounds read in Intel(R) QAT Windows software before version 2.6.0 may allow an authenticated user to cause a denial of service. The attack requires local access and high complexity but no user interaction, impacting system availability.

Risk Assessment

An authenticated user could cause service unavailability, disrupting applications relying on QAT. The impact is limited to availability, with no effect on confidentiality or integrity.

Recommendation

Update Intel(R) QAT Windows to version 2.6.0 or later. Restrict local access to trusted users and monitor for unusual application behavior.
