Summary

Multiple reflected XSS vulnerabilities exist in the web-based management interface of Cisco ISE and Cisco ISE-PIC due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. An authenticated remote attacker can inject malicious code into specific interface pages and execute arbitrary script in the victim's context.

Risk Assessment

An attacker with at least a low-privileged account could execute script in an administrator's or other user's browser, potentially leading to data theft or privilege escalation. Organizations using Cisco ISE are exposed to attacks requiring only a basic account.

Recommendation

Apply Cisco ISE and ISE-PIC updates containing fixes for CVE-2025-20289. Restrict management interface access to trusted networks and review account permissions.

Original NVD description (English source)

Multiple vulnerabilities in the web-based management interface of Cisco ISE and Cisco ISE-PIC could allow an authenticated, remote attacker to conduct a reflected XSS attack against a user of the interface. These vulnerabilities are due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input by the web-based management interface of an affected system. An attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by injecting malicious code into specific pages of the interface. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary script code in the context of the affected interface or access sensitive, browser-based information. To exploit these vulnerabilities, the attacker must have at least a low-privileged account on the affected device.
