Summary

The Calendar plugin for WordPress in versions up to and including 1.3.16 is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'event_desc' parameter due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with Contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts into pages, provided they can convince an administrator to enable lower privilege users to manage calendar events.

Risk Assessment

An authenticated attacker with Contributor privileges can inject malicious scripts that execute in other users' browsers, including administrators, potentially leading to session or account compromise.

Recommendation

Update the Calendar plugin to a version later than 1.3.16 that contains the fix for this vulnerability.

Original NVD description (English source)

The Calendar plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'event_desc' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 1.3.16 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, granted they can convince an administrator to enable lower privilege users to manage calendar events via the plugin settings.
