CVE-2025-13620
MediumCVSS 5.3Exploitation Probability (EPSS)
Low risk29th percentile - higher than 29% of all known CVEs
Summary
The Wp Social Login and Register Social Counter plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to missing authorization in versions up to, and including, 3.1.3. This is due to the REST routes wslu/v1/check_cache/{type}, wslu/v1/save_cache/{type}, and wslu/v1/settings/clear_counter_cache being registered with permission_callback set to __return_true and lacking capability or nonce validation in their handlers. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to clear or overwrite the social counter cache via crafted REST requests.
Risk Assessment
An unauthenticated attacker can manipulate the social counter cache, potentially leading to incorrect data display or disruption of the plugin's functionality. This may affect the integrity of data presented to users.
Recommendation
Update the Wp Social Login and Register Social Counter plugin to a version later than 3.1.3 if available. Until then, consider disabling the plugin or restricting access to its REST routes.
Other vulnerabilities in Wp Social Login and Register Social Counter
See all- CVE-2026-103898High
The Wp Social Login and Register Social Counter plugin for WordPress (up to 3.2.2) is vulnerable to Authentication Bypass. The social login REST callback locates an account by the email returned from the OAuth provider and sets an authentication cookie without a password check, while the only verification guard is a no-op for bundled Facebook and Twitter adapters. This allows unauthenticated attackers to obtain a session as any user, including Administrators, if they control an OAuth account with a matching email.
- CVE-2026-97344Medium
The Wp Social Login and Register Social Counter plugin for WordPress in versions up to and including 3.2.1 is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Avatar Alt Attribute and Arbitrary User Meta Write due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. The attacker must chain two steps: invoking the nonce-only dismiss_ajax_call endpoint to set the xs_social_profile_image meta flag, then setting their display name to a script payload.
