Summary

The Employee Spotlight – Team Member Showcase & Meet the Team Plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via Social URLs in all versions up to, and including, 5.1.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.

Risk Assessment

An attacker with a Contributor account can execute malicious JavaScript in other users' browsers, potentially leading to data theft, session hijacking, or content modification.

Recommendation

Update the plugin to a version newer than 5.1.2 or disable it if no update is available. Consider limiting Contributor privileges to a minimum.
