Summary

The Flying Images: Optimize and Lazy Load Images for Faster Page Speed plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via admin settings in all versions up to, and including, 2.4.14 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This allows authenticated attackers with administrator-level permissions and above to inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when a user accesses an injected page. This only affects multi-site installations and installations where unfiltered_html has been disabled.

Risk Assessment

An attacker with administrator-level permissions can perform an XSS attack, potentially leading to site takeover or data theft. Impact is limited to multi-site installations and those with unfiltered_html disabled.

Recommendation

Update the Flying Images plugin to a version later than 2.4.14. Consider limiting administrator privileges and reviewing the unfiltered_html configuration.
