CVE-2024-57950

MediumCVSS 5.5
Published: Updated: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

In the Linux kernel, the drm/amd/display module did not initialize variables used as denominators to a non-zero value. This could lead to a divide-by-zero error (DIVIDE_BY_ZERO), as reported by Coverity.

Risk Assessment

Potential kernel panic or system destabilization during AMD graphics driver operations. This may lead to denial of service.

Recommendation

Update the Linux kernel to a version containing the fix that initializes denominators to 1. System update is recommended.
