CVE-2006-3175

High
Published: Translated: NVD NIST

Summary

Multiple PHP remote file inclusion (RFI) vulnerabilities in mcGuestbook 1.3 allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code via the lang parameter in admin.php, ecrire.php, and lire.php. The issue might be limited to a race condition during installation or improper installation, as a completed installation creates an include file that prevents external control of the $lang variable.

Risk Assessment

An organization using mcGuestbook could be exposed to remote code execution by an attacker, potentially leading to full compromise of the web server and data theft. The risk is high if installation was not properly completed or a race condition exists.

Recommendation

Immediately update mcGuestbook to the latest version or remove the application if not in use. Additionally, verify installation integrity and ensure include files are properly created to prevent external control of the lang parameter.
