Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
Off-by-one Error vulnerability in Apache Tomcat impacting the [N] flag on the rewrite valves causes rewrite processing to restart at the second rule rather than the first rule.
Time-of-check Time-of-use (TOCTOU) race condition vulnerability in Apache Tomcat when creating unix domain sockets allows an unauthorized local user to access the socket. Affects versions from 11.0.0-M1 through 11.0.24, 10.1.0-M1 through 10.1.57, and 9.0.42 through 9.0.120.
Faktory prior to version 1.10.0 contains an insecure temporary file vulnerability in its embedded Redis bootstrapper. A local unprivileged user can hijack the Redis configuration and escalate to root because Faktory writes its startup config to a fixed, predictable path /tmp/redis.conf without validating it.
Faktory prior to version 1.10.0 is vulnerable to an unauthenticated denial of service where a single malformed command crashes the entire process. The wire protocol is line-based, and several command handlers slice or index the received line without checking for a payload, causing a Go slice or index out-of-range panic. The attack requires only a connection to the command port and completion of the trivial handshake, with no credentials when no password is configured.
Typebot in self-hosted versions prior to 3.18.0 has a vulnerability in the Send Email integration block that allows arbitrary reading of local files on the server. The block builds Nodemailer attachments from typebot variables, and its parseAttachments helper returns the supplied value as a filesystem path whenever it does not start with the application's own base URL. The Nodemailer transport is created without disabling file access, so an attachment specified as an absolute server path is read from the local filesystem and delivered.
Integer overflow in Chromecast in Google Chrome prior to 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to potentially execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High)
Missing authorization in CustomTabs in Google Chrome on Android prior to 152.0.7977.65 allowed a local attacker to potentially execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a co-installed app. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
Use after free in DevTools in Google Chrome prior to 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker leveraging social engineering to execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via a crafted Chrome extension. (Medium severity)
Race condition in Extensions in Google Chrome prior to 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via crafted network traffic. (Low severity)
Externally controlled reference in WebView in Google Chrome on Android prior to 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to potentially execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
Use after free in the Chromoting component in Google Chrome on Windows prior to 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via crafted network traffic. (Chromium security severity: High)
Use after free in the UI component in Google Chrome prior to 152.0.7977.65 allowed a local attacker who had compromised the renderer process to execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a local program. (Chromium security severity: Medium)
Use after free in the Animation component in Google Chrome prior to 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Low)
Out of bounds write in ANGLE in Google Chrome on Windows prior to 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker to potentially execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High)
Type confusion in V8 in Google Chrome prior to 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High)
Buffer overflow in Media in Google Chrome before 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page.
Improper input validation in ANGLE in Google Chrome on Mac before 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker to potentially execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page.
Type confusion in DevTools in Google Chrome before 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker leveraging social engineering to execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page.
Improper privilege management in Regional Capabilities in Google Chrome before 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker leveraging social engineering to bypass system access restrictions via a crafted Chrome extension.
Use after free in Chromecast in Google Chrome before 152.0.7977.65 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page.
