Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
In the vdec module, there is a possible out-of-bounds write due to a heap buffer overflow. This could lead to local escalation of privilege without needing additional execution privileges. User interaction is not required for exploitation.
Vulnerability in SourceCodester Class and Exam Timetabling System 1.0. The mysqli_query function in /admin/modal_add_room.php is vulnerable to SQL injection via the room_name argument. The attack can be performed remotely, and the exploit is publicly available.
Vulnerability in SourceCodester Class and Exam Timetabling System 1.0. The mysqli_query function in /admin/modal_add_product.php is vulnerable to SQL injection via the fname argument. The attack can be performed remotely, and the exploit has been publicly disclosed.
Vulnerability in SourceCodester Class and Exam Timetabling System 1.0. The mysqli_query function in /admin/modal_add_coursea.php is vulnerable to SQL injection via the course argument. The attack can be performed remotely, and the exploit has been made public.
Vulnerability in SourceCodester Class and Exam Timetabling System 1.0. The mysqli_query function in /admin/modal_add_course2.php is vulnerable to SQL injection via the course argument. The attack can be performed remotely, and the exploit has been disclosed to the public.
Vulnerability in SourceCodester Class and Exam Timetabling System 1.0. The mysqli_query function in /admin/modal_add_course1.php is vulnerable to SQL injection via the course argument. The attack can be performed remotely, and the exploit has been published.
Vulnerability in SourceCodester Class and Exam Timetabling System 1.0. The mysqli_query function in /admin/modal_add_course.php is vulnerable to SQL injection via the course argument. The attack can be performed remotely, and the exploit is now public.
When libpsl support is enabled, libcurl fails to enforce the Public Suffix List boundary check when processing a Set-Cookie header where the Domain attribute explicitly matches an origin host that is itself a public suffix (e.g., Domain=co.uk set by co.uk). Instead of coercing it into a strict host-only cookie, libcurl saves the cookie with wildcard domain scope (.co.uk), causing the cookie to be sent to arbitrary sibling subdomains under the same public suffix.
In libcurl with the wolfSSL backend, when CA caching is enabled and a CURLOPT_SSL_CTX_FUNCTION callback replaces the trust store, libcurl can silently reinstall the cached store after the callback returns. A certificate trusted by the cached store but rejected by the callback-selected store is then incorrectly accepted.
A Set-Cookie header using a tab (ASCII 9) instead of a space (ASCII 32) immediately before the Secure attribute causes curl to store the cookie without its Secure flag. The cookie might then wrongfully be sent over plaintext HTTP on subsequent requests to the same host.
A flaw in libcurl makes it wrongly reuse an existing HTTPS connection setup for a given hostname even when using a different Native CA Store setting (CURLSSLOPT_NATIVE_CA) than when the connection was created.
When CURLOPT_PINNEDPUBLICKEY is configured alongside options that disable standard peer verification (CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER = 0 and CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST = 0), libcurl fails to enforce public key pinning on connections established without a presented server certificate. Bypassing the pinning check under these disabled-verification conditions allows unauthenticated connections to succeed when they should be rejected.
When performing transfers via libcurl's multi interface, pooled TLS connections can outlive their originating easy handles. In OpenSSL 3 provider configurations, libcurl attaches an allocated library context to the easy handle's state and passes it to OpenSSL without acquiring an ownership reference; destroying the easy handle prematurely frees this context while the active connection retains a dangling pointer, leading to a heap-use-after-free upon subsequent I/O or post-handshake operations.
A flaw in libcurl's SASL negotiation for LDAP authentication allows an incomplete handshake sequence to be misinterpreted as a successful cryptographic verification. An attacker executing a Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attack can inject a premature or shortcut response that bypasses complete peer validation.
Improper validation in ZenHive mpp allows an unauthenticated remote client to inflate the fee-payer's gas cost per sponsored payment and have the sponsor pay for provisioning an access key on the client's own account. Missing check of the key_authorization field in the 0x76 envelope allows attaching a signed key, increasing cost from about 46,587 to about 1,808,700 gas.
Improper validation in ZenHive mpp allows an unauthenticated remote client to inflate the fee-payer's gas cost per sponsored payment and have the sponsor pay for EIP-7702 account delegations of the client's choosing. Missing read of the aa_authorization_list field in the 0x76 envelope allows attaching delegations, increasing cost from about 46,575 to about 1,884,087 gas.
PostgreSQL Anonymizer contains a vulnerability allowing unprivileged masked users to execute arbitrary code by abusing operators, domain casts, or view subqueries carrying untrusted expressions. When evaluated in the masking context, malicious code can run with elevated privileges. Fixed in version 3.1.4 and later.
MISP's UiBeta collection view performs a secondary query of member events by UUID without applying the caller's ACL. An authenticated user with view access to a collection can retrieve full details of events they are not permitted to read, including identifiers, info, dates, timestamps, creator org, tags, and galaxy clusters.
OpenMAIC before 1.0.1 skips SSRF validation in non-production builds, allowing unauthenticated attackers to reach cloud instance metadata services. Attackers can supply arbitrary provider URLs via x-base-url header or baseUrl parameter to access sensitive cloud credentials and metadata.
A vulnerability was found in Mstfakts College-Management-System in Front-end/login.php. Manipulation of the email argument causes improper authentication. The attack can be performed remotely. The exploit has been publicly disclosed and may be utilized. The project has not responded.
