Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
Waves Central for macOS contains a local privilege escalation in the privileged helper service. The helper authorizes connecting XPC clients by comparing the caller's code-signing certificate chain for equality with its own, rather than validating the caller against a pinned code requirement. A local, authenticated user can execute code within the vendor-signed process, satisfy the helper's client check, and cause the helper to execute a script with root privileges.
The Auth0 AD/LDAP Connector improperly processes a configuration value during service startup. This allows a low-privileged user on the host system to modify the connector's configuration. When the service restarts, the modified configuration can lead to code execution with the privileges of the service account.
Acrobat Reader is affected by an Incorrect Authorization vulnerability that could result in privilege escalation. A low-privileged attacker could exploit this vulnerability to gain elevated access. Exploitation does not require user interaction. Scope is changed.
Acrobat Reader is affected by an Improperly Controlled Modification of Object Prototype Attributes ('Prototype Pollution') vulnerability that could lead to arbitrary file system read. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to access sensitive files and directories outside the intended access scope. Exploitation requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file. Scope is changed.
Acrobat Reader is affected by a Heap-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.
Acrobat Reader is affected by a Use After Free vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.
Acrobat Reader is affected by a Use After Free vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction in that a victim must open a malicious file.
Acrobat Reader is affected by a Use After Free vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, such as opening a malicious file.
Acrobat Reader is affected by an Integer Overflow or Wraparound vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, such as opening a malicious file.
Acrobat Reader is affected by a Use After Free vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, such as opening a malicious file.
Acrobat Reader is affected by a Use After Free vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, such as opening a malicious file.
Acrobat Reader is affected by an out-of-bounds write vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, such as opening a malicious file.
Acrobat Reader is affected by an out-of-bounds write vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user.
Acrobat Reader is affected by a Use After Free vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. Exploitation requires user interaction, such as opening a malicious file.
The `OpenTelemetry.Resources.Host` NuGet package is affected by an untrusted search path vulnerability on macOS. Before version 1.16.0-beta.2, the `host.id` resource attribute detector launches `sh` and `ioreg` by bare name, allowing PATH-based hijacking.
Acrobat Reader is affected by a Type Confusion vulnerability that could result in arbitrary code execution in the context of the current user. An attacker could exploit this to execute arbitrary code, but user interaction is required to open a malicious file.
