Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
The WPeMatico RSS Feed Fetcher WordPress plugin before 2.8.27 does not perform a capability check before fetching a user-supplied URL and rendering the response. This allows users with contributor-level access and above to force the server to issue requests to internal-only hosts and read the responses back.
The WPeMatico RSS Feed Fetcher WordPress plugin before 2.8.27 does not verify that a user running a feed campaign is permitted to publish content or to attribute posts to another account. This allows users with contributor-level access and above to publish posts live and set any registered user, including an administrator, as the post author.
The WPeMatico RSS Feed Fetcher WordPress plugin before 2.8.27 does not perform a capability check or validate the destination of a user-supplied feed URL before fetching it server-side. This allows users with contributor-level access and above to make the server issue requests to internal-only resources and read the responses back.
The Online Scheduling and Appointment Booking System WordPress plugin before 28.3 does not prevent deserialization of untrusted input and does not correctly restrict a privileged maintenance feature to administrators. This allows users granted a custom booking-management capability (which an administrator must explicitly assign) to inject arbitrary PHP objects, overwrite privileged site options, and read stored integration secrets.
The EmbedPress WordPress plugin before 4.6.7 does not escape one of its block attributes before outputting it inside an HTML attribute, which could allow users with the contributor role and above to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks against higher privileged users viewing the post.
The WebFacing™ WordPress plugin before 5.4 does not restrict access to one of its bundled scripts and does not validate a user-supplied path before using it to include a local file, allowing unauthenticated users to perform Local File Inclusion.
The UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin WordPress plugin before 1.26.8 and before 2.26.8.26 does not perform any capability check in a routine that outputs its stored remote storage settings into admin pages when the site is left in a particular post-migration state. As a result, any authenticated user, such as a subscriber, can retrieve the credentials of the configured backup destinations, such as passwords and secret keys.
Heym versions 0.0.90 and earlier contain two server-side request forgery (SSRF) egress gaps, both remediated in app/services/ssrf_guard.py in 0.0.91. First, the LLM image-edit input loader (_load_image_bytes) fetched caller-controlled HTTP/HTTPS URLs with a bare httpx.get, applying only a scheme check and bypassing the egress-pinning HTTP client. Second, _is_public_address unwrapped only IPv4-mapped IPv6 addresses, so IPv6 transition forms — the NAT64 well-known prefix 64:ff9b::/96, deprecated IPv4-compatible ::x.x.x.x addresses, and 6to4 (2002::/16) — could carry loopback, RFC1918, link-local, or cloud-metadata IPv4 destinations past both the initial URL validation and the dial-time IP pin.
The workflow automation platform heym before version 0.0.91 stores and returns multiple secrets in plaintext, including webhook header-auth values, MCP API keys, portal session tokens, workflow execution JWTs, Discord interaction tokens, and global variables. A user with read access to a workflow, share/team membership, or anyone able to read the database, a backup, or logs can recover these secrets and replay them to execute workflows or act as the secret owner.
heym before 0.0.105 fails to apply egress guards to integration services that use credential-supplied base URLs, allowing authenticated users to bypass SSRF protections. Attackers can configure credentials pointing to loopback, private, or cloud-metadata addresses and read internal service responses returned as workflow node output.
heym before 0.0.105 does not act on the result of the credential authorization lookup in the Redis workflow node. When _get_accessible_credential returns None, the node treats it as an empty configuration and falls back to defaults, connecting to localhost:6379 with no password and executing the requested operation. An authenticated workflow author who supplies a credential ID they do not own, or one that was deleted, obtains a read/write connection to whatever Redis is listening on the backend's loopback interface.
Heym before 0.0.106 contains a credential exfiltration vulnerability in the POST /api/credentials/test endpoint that allows collaborators with shared credential access to exfiltrate the credential owner's secret. Attackers can override the destination URL in the config parameter to cause the server to send decrypted authentication secrets to attacker-controlled endpoints.
heym before 0.0.109 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability in the Slack, Discord, and Crawler workflow nodes. These nodes issue HTTP requests to URLs taken from user-created credentials using an unguarded HTTP client, bypassing the SSRF egress guard. Any registered user can create a credential pointing at an internal address and execute a workflow, causing the backend to reach loopback, private, link-local, or cloud-metadata endpoints and return the full response body in the node output.
AzuraCast before 0.23.6 contains a missing permission check vulnerability in the GET /api/station/{station_id}/file/{id}/play endpoint that allows authenticated users to download media files from any station. Attackers can enumerate media files using sequential IDs and exfiltrate the complete media library of stations they lack permissions for.
AzuraCast before 0.23.6 lacks RequireInternalConnection middleware on the Liquidsoap API endpoint and incorrectly derives the AutoDJ flag from header presence rather than validated value. Users with View station permission can inject arbitrary now-playing metadata, disrupt live broadcasts, and disclose filesystem paths.
In AzuraCast before 0.23.8, the public On-Demand download endpoint fails to verify playlist-level access controls, allowing unauthenticated users to download media files excluded from On-Demand-enabled playlists. Attackers can bypass the station operator's intended access restrictions by directly requesting media via the download endpoint using valid media identifiers, exposing private or restricted audio content.
Contrast through 1.20.0 contains a panic vulnerability in the transit-engine endpoint's ciphertextContainer.UnmarshalJSON function that fails to validate decoded ciphertext length before slicing. An authenticated workload with a valid mesh certificate can trigger a runtime panic by submitting a short base64-encoded ciphertext, causing log spam and request failures without crashing the process.
http4k's Digest authentication module (org.http4k:http4k-security-digest) before versions 6.48.0.0, 5.42.0.0 and 4.51.0.0 defaults the nonceVerifier parameter of ServerFilters.DigestAuth and DigestAuthProvider to { true }, so every nonce is accepted regardless of its value, age, or prior use. Applications relying on this default have no replay protection on Digest authentication: an attacker who can capture a valid 'Authorization: Digest' response (for example by observing network traffic or reading logs) can replay it indefinitely against the same protected resource.
A vulnerability in the Edimax BR-6428nC router version 1.16 affects an unknown function in the file /goform/formWizSurvey of the Wireless Wizard Handler component. Manipulation of the interface1/interface2 arguments leads to a stack-based buffer overflow. Remote exploitation is possible, and the exploit has been publicly disclosed.
http4k (Maven artifact org.http4k:http4k-core) before versions 6.48.0.0, 5.42.0.0, and 4.51.0.0 ships a BasicCookieStorage that does not enforce RFC 6265 scoping rules for cookie domain, path, and Secure attributes. When a single BasicCookieStorage instance is used to talk to more than one origin or scheme, cookies stored for one origin can be sent to other origins, and cookies marked Secure can be sent over plain HTTP, potentially disclosing session cookies or other sensitive values to unauthorized hosts or network observers.
