Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
An unauthenticated remote code execution vulnerability exists in the underlying operating system of HPE Networking Fabric Composer and could be exploited if certain preconditions outside of the attacker's control are met. Successful exploitation could allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to execute arbitrary code as a privileged user on the underlying operating system, leading to complete compromise of the HPE Networking Fabric Composer host.
A vulnerability in the web-based management interface of HPE Networking Fabric Composer could allow an authenticated low privilege operator user to conduct a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) attack against an administrative user of the interface. A successful exploit could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary script code in a victim's browser in the context of the affected interface.
An authentication bypass vulnerability exists in the underlying operating system of HPE Networking Fabric Composer. Successful exploitation could allow an unauthenticated adjacent attacker to execute arbitrary code as a privileged user on the underlying operating system, leading to complete compromise of the AFC host.
An issue in fast-note-sync-service <=2.13.7 allows a remote attacker to escalate privileges via the admin configuration endpoint exposes authTokenKey.
OpenAI Codex Desktop for Windows and macOS automatically inspected Git metadata and working-tree status when a user opened a workspace. If the workspace contains a repository with preserved attacker-controlled .git/config, the attr.tree setting and a configured clean or process filter can cause Git to run an attacker-controlled program. The program runs outside Codex's command sandbox with the signed-in user's privileges, without a workspace-trust prompt, command approval, or interaction with a model. The attacker can read, modify, or delete files and access credentials available to that user. Exploitation requires Git to be available on PATH and the user to open the attacker-prepared repository with its local Git configuration intact. An ordinary Git clone does not copy the source repository's .git/config and is not sufficient by itself.
Buffer overflow vulnerability in Tenda A18 router version 15.13.07.09 allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code via the fromSetCmdlineRun function.
Dell PowerStore SDNAS contains a Missing Authentication for Critical Function vulnerability. An unauthenticated attacker with remote access could exploit this, leading to filesystem access.
Incorrect access control in the sendToMasterQosConfig function of TOTOLINK T6 (version 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015) allows unauthenticated attackers to forward attacker-controlled QoS settings to the master via sending a crafted MQTT message to the cs_broker component.
Incorrect access control in the remoteCloudUpdateCheck function of TOTOLINK T6 (version 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015) allows unauthenticated attackers to restart the cloud update check workflow via sending a crafted MQTT message to the cs_broker component.
Incorrect access control in the recvClearPairCfg function of TOTOLINK T6 (version 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015) allows unauthenticated attackers to reset pairing state and reboot the device via sending a crafted MQTT message to the cs_broker component.
Use of Hard-coded Credentials vulnerability in Talassoft Industrial Management Software allows retrieval of embedded sensitive data. Affects versions from V.4 before V.16.
An issue in the NetStaX EtherNet/IP Stack prior to v5.6.1 could allow a large Class 3 explicit-message request to exceed the application-side receive buffer without error. This could result in memory corruption, device crash, or remote attack vector.
A denial-of-service issue exists in RSLinx Classic due to improper handling of a malformed packet. A crafted CIP packet can crash the service, requiring restart.
Incorrect access control in the recvIndirectMeshInfo function of TOTOLINK T6 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015 allows unauthenticated attackers to insert or replace mesh neighbor records via sending a crafted MQTT message to the cs_broker component.
Incorrect access control in the recvSlaveCloudCheckStatus function of TOTOLINK T6 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015 allows unauthenticated attackers to overwrite cloud-result tracking files via sending a crafted MQTT message to the cs_broker component.
Incorrect access control in the freeStaClient function of TOTOLINK T6 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015 allows unauthenticated attackers to forcibly disconnect wireless clients via sending a crafted MQTT message to the cs_broker component.
Incorrect access control in the meshInfoKick function of TOTOLINK T6 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015 allows unauthenticated attackers to kick or clean stale mesh information/state and trigger regeneration of mesh metadata via sending a crafted MQTT message to the cs_broker component.
Incorrect access control in the informSyncUpgfw function of TOTOLINK T6 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015 allows unauthenticated attackers to mass-trigger firmware update activity across mesh slaves via sending a crafted MQTT message to the cs_broker component.
Incorrect access control in the meshSlaveUpdate function of TOTOLINK T6 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015 allows unauthenticated attackers to start a firmware download or flash workflow on the slave device via sending a crafted MQTT message to the cs_broker component.
Incorrect access control in the updateSlaveIpList function of TOTOLINK T6 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015 allows unauthenticated attackers to overwrite the slave IP inventory state via sending a crafted MQTT message to the cs_broker component.
