Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
Picotls is a TLS protocol library that allows users to select different crypto backends. In affected revisions through 44bc503, when picotls is used as a client-side TLS stack, a peer can send a HelloRetryRequest followed by a spoofed Hello message that causes a null-pointer dereference. This can terminate the consuming process, including a process performing other work, resulting in denial of service. This issue is fixed in commit a06ca41.
Filecoin Pin before version 1.1.0 has flawed fork detection in the GitHub upload action, which only checks event.pull_request. In the two-workflow pattern, workflow_run lacks this event, so isForkPR is false and an artifact from an untrusted fork is uploaded using the repository owner's wallet. An external contributor can cause unauthorized Filecoin wallet expenditure.
LibreDWG is a free C library to read and write DWG files. Prior to 0.14, `bit_TV_to_utf8()` in `src/bits.c` can write to the caller-provided `src` buffer despite accepting const input. On an `iconv()` error other than `E2BIG`, the function frees its output buffer and passes the original input alias to `bit_u_expand()`, which can cause a segmentation fault and denial of service or unexpected modification of mutable input.
NovumOS before version 0.25-beta.1 runs the Nova interpreter in Ring 0 with unrestricted kernel memory access. Loading a malicious .nv script through the shell allows a local user to execute code with kernel privileges without security checks. Script execution is not isolated in Ring 3.
In Stirling-PDF prior to 3.0.0, the POST /api/v1/ai/tools/create-pdf-from-html-agent endpoint accepts attacker-controlled htmlContent and passes it to WeasyPrint without CustomHtmlSanitizer, unlike the sanitized /api/v1/convert/html/pdf control path. HTTP and HTTPS resource references can make server-side requests to internal or cloud-metadata destinations, while file references can embed local content readable by the Stirling-PDF process into the generated PDF. The endpoint is reachable without credentials when security.enableLogin is false.
In Stirling-PDF from 2.13.1 until 2.13.2, the POST /api/v1/convert/svg/pdf endpoint renders attacker-supplied SVG through Apache Batik, and a scheme-less root-relative image reference bypasses SvgSanitizer.isExternalUrl() before Batik resolves it against the file:///input.svg document base as a same-origin local file. The convert() and addSvgAsPage() paths in SvgToPdf.java can then render image-decodable server files into the returned PDF when sanitization is enabled, including without authentication on login-disabled deployments or with non-admin access when login is enabled. The issue discloses PNG, JPG, GIF, or SVG content and provides an existence oracle only for image-decodable paths.
Tesseract is an open source OCR engine. Prior to 5.5.4, ReadAdaptedClass in src/classify/adaptive.cpp raw-reads an ADAPT_CLASS_STRUCT from a pre-adapted-template .a file without neutralizing TempProtos and Config pointer fields before any destructor path. When the legacy engine is selected, classify_use_pre_adapted_templates is enabled, and an attacker can write the output-basename .a file, the success or rejection path can pass file-controlled pointers to ~ADAPT_CLASS_STRUCT and operator delete, causing memory corruption and denial of service.
In Tesseract prior to 5.5.4, GENERIC_2D_ARRAY::DeSerializeSize in src/ccstruct/matrix.h reads matrix dimensions as signed int32_t values and compares them only with UINT16_MAX, allowing negative values to reach ResizeNoInit. Negative dimensions or a 65535 by 65535 product can create inconsistent allocation state and later out-of-bounds accesses while loading a crafted traineddata file, causing denial of service.
In Tesseract prior to 5.5.4, WeightMatrix::DeSerialize trusts a mode byte from a traineddata LSTM network and calls WeightMatrix::DeSerializeOld when kDoubleFlag is clear. In default FAST_FLOAT builds, DeSerializeOld invokes ASSERT_HOST instead of returning an error, so loading a crafted model through TessBaseAPI::Init terminates the process and causes denial of service.
In Tesseract from 5.4.0 until 5.5.4, AppendLinePolygon in src/api/pagerenderer.cpp destroys the caller-owned right-to-left Pta accumulator while receiving it by value, leaving line_top_rtl_pts and line_bottom_rtl_pts dangling. On an upright Hebrew or Arabic page at the default PAGE XML level, POLYGONFLAG with a false skewed_flag enters the vulnerable calls, while LEVELFLAG greater than zero provides an alternative gate. The calls repeatedly read and free the stale object, causing a double free and use after free and allowing corrupted coordinates to reach RecalcPolygonline.
The ssl_verify_fun library (deadtrickster) improperly validates certificates with host mismatch because try_match_wildcard/4 in src/ssl_verify_hostname.erl anchors only the text before and after the * in an identifier such as f*.example.net. This causes the wildcard to also consume dots, so the certificate is accepted for f.evil.example.net, and *.168.1.1 matches the IP literal 192.168.1.1. The issue affects versions from 1.0.1 before 1.1.8.
phoenix_html is vulnerable to cross-site scripting (XSS) due to improper neutralization of input during web page generation. The attributes_escape/1 function in lib/phoenix_html.ex escapes attribute values but not attribute names; a key such as 'x onmouseover' can end the attribute and start a new one, and atom keys are only dasherized, allowing any character including quotes and '>'. The issue affects versions from 1.0.0 before 3.3.5 and from 4.0.0 before 4.4.0.
This CVE ID has been rejected. It is a reservation duplicate of CVE-2026-92243; all references and descriptions have been removed to prevent accidental usage.
Stack-based buffer overflow and missing authorization in Thales Sentinel Keys Server on Windows. The server does not check the length of the first field in an HTTP request, allowing an attacker to send a crafted request and potentially achieve remote code execution as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM.
Stack-based buffer overflow and out-of-bounds write in Thales Sentinel Keys Server on Windows. The server does not check the length of the first field in the input message, allowing a local attacker to execute code as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM and escalate privileges.
SNARK Verifier is a generic (S)NARK verifier. Prior to 0.2.5, the Halo 2 aggregation circuit can mishandle proof points encoded as the point at infinity. EcPointLoader::multi_scalar_multiplication places a Value::Assigned(_) base paired with Value::Constant(ONE) into its unscaled variable-base list and passes it directly to sum_with_const. The default shim delegates to halo2-lib EccChip::sum, whose incomplete affine addition assumes nonidentity input points. A prover-controlled proof point encoded as (0, 0) can therefore enter the final aggregation sum through the scalar-one shortcut and affect the MSM or accumulator computation. Practical exploitability depends on the surrounding aggregation and final-decider checks; the advisory does not establish universal acceptance of invalid proofs. This issue is fixed in version 0.2.5.
OpenVM is a performant and modular zkVM framework built for customization and extensibility. Before 1.7.0 in the 1.x line and in affected 2.0 and 2.1 prereleases, OpenVmHalo2Verifier.verify accepts appExeCommit and appVmCommit as bytes32 values without checking that either is less than the BN254 scalar field modulus. Although public-value and proof-data lengths are checked, callers can provide non-canonical 256-bit encodings greater than or equal to that modulus at the Solidity wrapper boundary. Applications relying on the wrapper can therefore accept non-canonical app executable and app VM commitments, creating ambiguity between the supplied byte-level values and the field elements used by the verifier. This issue is fixed in versions 1.7.0, 2.0.0-rc.3 and 2.1.0-preview.
OpenVM before 1.7.0 (and affected 2.0 and 2.1 prereleases) has a vulnerability in OpenVmHalo2Verifier.verify where raw calldata from proofData can invoke another external function instead of the verifier, accepting arbitrary app commitments and public values without proof validation.
OpenVM before 1.7.0 (and affected 2.0 and 2.1 prereleases) has a vulnerability in MemoryMerkleAir that does not forbid Merkle expansion rows at parent_height = 0 or below when expand_direction != 0. A malicious prover can fabricate a subtree and change the committed memory root without a corresponding memory operation, undermining OpenVM proof soundness.
MyTube before 1.10.3 registers static and cloud routes before API routes, leaving them outside the authentication stack even when loginEnabled=true. Unauthenticated clients can access videos, thumbnails, avatars, subtitles, and cloud signed URLs.
