Weekly CVE digest
One email a week with newly published vulnerabilities worth knowing about. No account needed.
This digest covers new vulnerabilities in general, not your servers. If you want to know which of them actually run in your infrastructure, that is what Secvalis does: it scans your machines and reports only what concerns them.
MISP modules are autonomous modules that can be used to extend MISP for new services. Prior to 3.0.7, an unsafe remote resource fetching vulnerability existed in MISP Modules expansion modules. The html_to_markdown module accepted arbitrary HTTP(S) URLs without sufficient validation, which could allow Server-Side Request Forgery against loopback, private, or link-local network resources. Additionally, the qrcode module disabled TLS certificate verification when retrieving remote images, exposing requests to potential man-in-the-middle interception or response tampering.
Flight is an extensible micro-framework for PHP. Prior to 3.18.1, the make:controller CLI command calls mkdir(..., recursive: true) on a path built from the user-supplied controller name, before Nette's class-name validation runs. The class-file write is correctly rejected by Nette when the name contains /, but the recursive directory creation side effect is already committed — including directories located outside the project root through ../ traversal.
When a user's access to mint tokens for a service account is revoked, it is sometimes still possible to do so for a few seconds after the event. The user will eventually lose access to do this.
A vulnerability in SQL Expressions allows an authenticated attacker to read arbitrary files from the Grafana server's filesystem. Only instances with the sqlExpressions feature toggle enabled are vulnerable.
Using the $__timeGroup macro can lead to an out-of-memory (OOM) condition by overloading the server. This requires a SQL datasource, and if the server is set up to auto-restart, the impact of the attack is minimal or non-existent.
A vulnerability in the Grafana plugin allows unbounded memory allocation by reading the entire request body into memory. An authenticated user can exploit this to trigger an out-of-memory condition, potentially causing a denial of service.
Any editor could delete any snapshot, even if they have no access to read or write them.
A race condition in Grafana Live allows authenticated users with Viewer role to trigger a server crash by sending concurrent requests that cause a fatal map access error. This results in complete service unavailability requiring restart of the Grafana server.
The Grafana Live push endpoint can be exploited to cause unbounded memory allocation by sending a large or streaming request body, potentially leading to out-of-memory conditions. An authenticated user with access to the Grafana Live API can trigger this issue.
Editors could delete any annotation, even those they do not have read access to. The editor user cannot create or read the annotations.
A DoS vulnerability in Palo Alto Networks Prisma SD-WAN ION devices allows an unauthenticated attacker in a network adjacent to the device to cause system disruption by sending a specially crafted IPv6 packet.
A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in Alinto SOGo, version 5.12.7. A maliciously crafted ICS calendar invitation files allows arbitrary JavaScript execution within the authenticated SOGo webmail session. The issue occurs because SVG content embedded in the description field of an ICS file, with an onrepeat event handler, is insufficiently sanitized before being rendered in the webmail interface. A remote attacker can execute JavaScript in the victim's browser when the malicious calendar invite is viewed. Successful exploitation may allow mailbox access, email and contact theft, session hijacking, and other actions allowed by an authenticated user.
Netty is an asynchronous, event-driven network application framework. Prior to 4.2.13.Final and 4.1.133.Final, the MQTT 5 header Properties section is parsed and buffered before any message size limit is applied. Specifically, in MqttDecoder, the decodeVariableHeader() method is called before the bytesRemainingBeforeVariableHeader > maxBytesInMessage check. The decodeVariableHeader() can call other methods which will call decodeProperties(). Effectively, Netty does not apply any limits to the size of the properties being decoded. Additionally, because MqttDecoder extends ReplayingDecoder, Netty will repeatedly re-parse the enormous Properties sections and buffer the bytes in memory, until the entire thing parses to completion. This can cause high resource usage in both CPU and memory. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.2.13.Final and 4.1.133.Final.
Netty is an asynchronous, event-driven network application framework. Prior to 4.2.13.Final and 4.1.133.Final, the Netty Redis codec encoder (RedisEncoder) writes user-controlled string content directly to the network output buffer without validating or sanitizing CRLF (\r\n) characters. Since the Redis Serialization Protocol (RESP) uses CRLF as the command/response delimiter, an attacker who can control the content of a Redis message can inject arbitrary Redis commands or forge fake responses. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.2.13.Final and 4.1.133.Final.
Netty prior to 4.2.13.Final and 4.1.133.Final incorrectly parses malformed Transfer-Encoding, enabling request smuggling attacks. The vulnerability is fixed in 4.2.13.Final and 4.1.133.Final.
A vulnerability in Netty before versions 4.2.13.Final and 4.1.133.Final in HttpObjectDecoder allows request smuggling for HTTP/1.0 requests containing both Transfer-Encoding: chunked and Content-Length headers. An attacker can send such a request, causing message boundary disagreement.
Netty is an asynchronous, event-driven network application framework. Prior to 4.2.13.Final and 4.1.133.Final, Netty's chunk size parser silently overflows int, enabling request smuggling attacks. This vulnerability is fixed in 4.2.13.Final and 4.1.133.Final.
An exposed Keycloak management service in the Arqit Symmetric Key Agreement Platform enables unauthorized access to sensitive debug information such as metrics and health data. This issue affects versions before 26.03.
Hermes WebUI prior to version 0.51.44 contains a path traversal vulnerability in the session import endpoint. Authenticated attackers can read arbitrary files by importing a crafted session with an unrestricted workspace value.
